Kurt Vile - Childish Prodigy (2009)

OK so umm. I don't know all too much about this gentleman... except that he has recorded one of this years most beautiful and utterly brilliant LP's. "I stood and held my own hand, pretending it was yours" he sings, almost sounding like Mr. Westerberg. Fecking brilliant. And that's all I know, and need to know.

Lee "Scratch" Perry & The Upsetters - Return of The Super Ape (1978)

Just as good as Super Ape if you ask me. Let it's weird cow sounds and tribal drumming slowly hypnotize you. It's sweaty and warm, just like the ape on the cover. This was also the last album The Upsetters would release before Lee Perry closed (burned down, or whatever he did) his Black Ark Studio.

Neon Indian - Psychic Chasms (2009)

I used to bicycle around all day long when I was a kid, just cruisin'. This LP takes me back to those days of endless sunsets and 2 kr. Banana skids. Does it sound like 1992 to you? Probably not.

Nagisa Ni Te - Dream Sounds (2005)

Remember the days you spent at Otaru Dream Beach as a kid? Me neither, but this might help. Nagisa Ni Te is Japanese for "On The Beach". A personal favourite of mine.

Yeasayer - Odd Blood (2010)

From the future this one. Pretty damn good. Artwork rules. Ten songs is always better than eleven.

The Red Krayola - Coconut Hotel (1967)

Not my favourite Krayola record, but it's still Krayola and that's never bad. Too experimental for International Artists back in '67, was released by Drag City almost 30 years later.
